Exceeding expectations

Boiling water, the scents wafting from the kitchen, a warm comforting feeling...

TEA!

Oh my word I love tea! Anyone that knows me, knows I love tea!

There is just something about it, it gives me a homey and comfortable feeling and can totally bring people together! While having a wonderful cup of tea I can get lost in my thoughts and write away in my journal, scribble and dream ideas for future projects, and get together with a friend to catchup on life, all while enjoying a steaming cup of goodness.

There are plenty of shops that have been opening up around town and they are all good in their own ways and have their own wonderful blends, but somehow DavidsTea has captured my interest...tugged at my heart strings and tingled my tastebuds!

All the DavidsTea locations have been wonderful and the thing that keeps me coming back besides their tea blends... customer service! DavidsTea gets it. The associates are knowledgeable, witty, quick and seem to care that you leave their location a satisfied customer. A satisfied customer is a return customer. I LIKE that!

I am a sucker for good customer service. I'd like to think that I provide the best customer service I can in order to keep people coming back to me for their photographs. Hence, I expect the same from the places that I invest my money in or the partners I work with.

Customer service is one of the things that I can say is part of my brand. I know that sounds odd but hear me out. There are people that provide customer service because they have to in order to keep their business; without customer interaction there would be no business. Somehow they feel like they are obligated to do it, or hire someone else to do it and don't invest the appropriate time or resources on this aspect of their business. I can say that in the beginning I thought I provided personable and good customer service, however, my lack of organization and a lack of turn-around structure left much to be desired and turned all my good customer service efforts into a not so pleasant experience. Having re-evaluated my process and having implemented a workable and reasonable structure, I can confidently say that my customer satisfaction is what I've always thought it should be!

Susana Cristina is personable, caring and exceeds expectations!

To that I raise my iced cup of Mango Diablo and say 'Cheers!!'

Step at a time...

In the midst of life and all that it has to offer sometimes it's nice to just sit down quietly and evaluate where you have been and where you want to go.

Looking around at the packing boxes that need to get packed with the books filled with tags, the notebooks, journals and scrapbooks with scribbles, notes, ideas, images and dreams, camera manuals on my night stand.... All these things are a part of me, a part that has lead me to where I stand now and that will eventually lead me to where I am supposed to be and what I am meant to do.

However, things don't just happen out of thin air and you have to work hard to achieve what you want out of life. So in between work, workouts, workshops, photoshoots, website design, camera learning, packing and breathing I know that I am going to come out stronger and be a better me.

So what am I afraid of?...

I am coming out of my comfort zone and want to step into the world with my head held high and be proud!

Thank you for sticking around, for your pacience, for your encouraging words when I doubt myself!

By the way a Facebook page has finally been created! Susana Cristina Photography is live and kicking! Go check it out, share it with your friends and don't be afraid to 'Like' it!

Missed opportunities...

Sitting in the parked car and looking out the window I saw something that somehow hasn't left my mind...

I was looking at the bus that had just stopped beside me waiting for the light to open so it can go on it's way. Inside the bus, two small girls hug and kiss an older lady, presumably their mother and make their way running to the front of the bus to run out. Once outside the bus they make their way safely to the sidewalk and look back at the bus with expectant faces... eagerly waiting for a wave back... a wave back they didn't get... the look of disappointment on those little girls faces was heart breaking... they sat on a nearby cement staircase and the older girl with her arms around the younger one consoling her... wipping her sobs away...

Makes me realize how much we take for granted and how much we forget that little things matter.... might be a small insignificant move for you, but it might mean the world for someone else...

Toronto - Maternity - Nellie and Aman

Staring at the tiny black and white picture she says to me 'I can't believe he is really in here... Oh he kicked!!' just to see her face completely and absolutely in love with the little man she is carrying...

Nellie will be a fantastic mother and Aman a fantastic father. They are caring and considerate people and are full of love to give to their son that will be arriving in June... forever changing their lives!

I know that both families are eager to meet him and there will be plenty to celebrate when he arrives, but, for the time being enjoy the private session that we took during the weekend. There was much laughter and fun but most importantly love...

Thank you for letting me in and for being a part of your lives!

Surprises

A thought...

A simple gesture...

A hand written note...

A moment in time...

A memory...

A shy smile...

A kiss and warm embrace...

Anything you do to show you care, makes me appreciate all the little things... things not to be forgotten or taken for granted...
Things that bring me happiness and have me reciprocate the same way... because it feels good to give and receive...
It feels good when I see the reaction on your face... for something when you least expected...

Life and it's surprises...

Here's to living one day at a time... appreciating and enjoying everything that comes our way!
